Crimson Desert

Tier list

Best armor in Crimson Desert

Rankings weigh resist coverage, set bonuses for common routes, and how early you can field the pieces—not raw fashion stats.

Criteria

S-tier sets cover volcano-to-glacier progress or oath-skill spikes without constant swaps. A-tier covers Act II–III defaults and sanctum or fortress specialists. B and C cover farm fillers and starter gear.

Rankings assume a mid-to-late campaign character with access to Greymane crafting benches and at least one fortress rematch unlocked. Fashion stats and dye rarity are ignored. Resists against fire, frost, and void matter more than raw defense once you leave the opening plains of Pywel.

How to use this list

  • Pair S-tier resists with the weapons guide for your preferred stance—greatsword oath builds and dual-blade mobility want different set bonuses.
  • Farm piece drops inside sanctums and spires after the matching story beat; early entries on the list are not meant for Act I.
  • Recheck after major patches—Pearl Abyss balance notes can shift set bonuses without renaming the armor.

Tier S

  • Dragon Stone Watcher

Best overall resist package for volcano-to-glacier progression without swapping sets constantly.

  • Truth Seeker

Top pick for oath-skill builds after the Truth chain; falls off if you skip story shards.

Tier A

  • Greymane Vanguard

Default recommendation through Act II–III for balanced guard and stamina.

  • Sanctum Pilgrim

Sanctum trilogy farmers and undead-heavy routes.

  • Black Bear Slayer's Regalia

Fortress rematches and Darkbringer learning runs where raw mitigation matters.

Tier B

  • Chaos Hunter

Farm-friendly set before you commit mats to S-tier upgrades.

  • Ether Spring Warden

Exploration and resource gathering, not primary boss armor.

Tier C

  • Starter militia leathers

Replace immediately after leaving the prologue; kept for transmog only.
