Crimson Desert Metacritic
Metacritic hosts the live critic and user aggregates. This page explains how those scores are split, and points at the review for what critics actually discussed.
Read the live page, not a copied number
Search interest for Crimson Desert Metacritic is a score lookup. Critic metascores and user scores change as outlets file reviews and as players rate the game after patches. A number pasted here would describe a day, not the current aggregate. Open Crimson Desert on Metacritic for the figure, then come back for how to weigh it.
OpenCritic is a second aggregate with its own outlet list. The two sites will not always show the same average. Pick one and note the date you checked.
Critic score versus user score
The critic score averages published reviews, usually on a 100-point scale after Metacritic normalizes each outlet. The user score is a separate average of player ratings on that site. A gap between them is common and does not, by itself, mean the critic number is wrong or the user number is right.
For Crimson Desert, critic writeups clustered on Greymane combat, Pywel's spires and sanctums, Kliff's story against the Black Bears, and platform performance. Player ratings after launch also react to stability patches in the 1.1.x line, including the September 2026 1.1.3 update. If you care about the current build, read the score next to the patch notes, not next to a day-one impression alone.
Platform SKUs
PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC can each carry a Metacritic page or a platform filter. A DualSense and performance-mode review on PS5 is a different sample from a settings-and-ultrawide review on PC or a Series X versus Series S note on Xbox. Match the score to the platform you will buy. Mac shipped on the same March 19, 2026 date; confirm whether the aggregate you are reading includes that SKU.
What this site covers instead
The Crimson Desert review summarizes those launch themes, who the single-player campaign fits, and when the review embargo sat relative to the March 19, 2026 release. It does not compete with Metacritic for a live number.
The shipped game is a single-player campaign. Score pages that dock points for missing co-op are judging a mode Pearl Abyss has not shipped. The multiplayer status page states that directly.
FAQ
What is the Crimson Desert Metacritic score?
Metacritic publishes a critic aggregate and a separate user score, often split by platform. Both move as outlets and players add reviews. This page does not quote a number, because a copied score goes stale.
Why do PS5, Xbox, and PC scores differ?
Each storefront SKU can carry its own critic set. A PS5 review of DualSense and performance modes is not the same sample as a PC review of settings and mods. Read the platform page that matches the copy you would buy.
Do user scores match critic scores?
Not always. Critic scores track assigned reviews from outlets. User scores track player ratings on Metacritic and can swing after patches, launch trouble, or review-bombing unrelated to the campaign.
Where is the written review?
The review page covers combat, Pywel's density, Kliff's story, platform performance, and the review embargo. Use it when you want the themes. Use Metacritic when you want the live aggregate.
